Things We Have:
We began with a stupid conversation about the meaninglessness of a purple industrially-printed image on a yellow t-shirt. It was a well-worn cotton poly-blend. Is there an inexplicable connection to these objects that we happen to hold onto for some reason? We've convinced a bunch of people to expose their private things to you. How will public interaction change these private objects; will they be as dear and important after today? How do we represent ourselves with the personal belongings we keep around for no other reason than the simplicity of personal ownership? How does our identity change when you know these things about us?

Curated by Brandon Olsen and Justin Hurty.

Sampler:
This is a rapidly collected set of works. The exhibit provides a space for all of our new graduate students, campus wide, to provide some representation of their work, or something entirely out of character. Although we haven't seen anything yet, we expect artworks, writings, statements, architectural models, mp3's, and maybe also something we don't have an idea what to call just yet.

Organized by Brandon Olsen and Justin Hurty.

Mission School Resume Writing Workshop:
Has your Mission School career unexpectedly peaked too soon? Have you hit a wall that no graffiti will stick to? Then come to PLAySPACE's opening reception for a FREE resume writing workshop which will be sure to point your promising career in the arts in the right direction. Bring resumes in need of minor polishing, accumulated but as-yet unorganized exhibition and work experience, and/or a creative, ambitious and shrewd market-savvy mind.

Work by James Bradley.

Skip Zone:
Visitors are invited to skip freely through the alloted lane in the gallery. The action of skipping is an enjoyable one. It relieves stress and releases endorphins. Hopefully Skip Zone will improve the skipper's perceptions of the surrounding objects and artworks.
